Responses

1. What is AccuCrete®? top

AccuCrete® is a gypsum concrete underlayment designed for fire and sound control in multi-family dwellings, and leveling up new or existing floors in commercial and renovation projects. We also use a special blend of AccuCrete® called, AccuRadiant®, as a thermal mass in a radiant heat application in residential and light commercial construction.

2. How do I contact a sales person? top

Call us at 1-800-624-5963 and ask for an AccuCrete® representative.

3. What does it cost? top

Cost is dependant on many variables: Size of pour, type of application, thickness of application, location of the project, and wage rates.  We can get a licensed installer to contact you and quote you a price.  Call us at 1-800-624-5963, and ask for an AccuCrete® representative.  You can also e-mail your questions to info@accucrete.com.

4. How much weight will AccuCrete® add to my building? top

Typically AccuCrete® weights about 110-115 pounds per cubic foot.

That is equal to about 7 pounds per square foot when poured ¾” thick or 14 pounds per square foot for a radiant heating system when poured 1 ½” thick.

5. How much will it increase my sound rating? top

Because airborne noise can be reduced by adding mass, AccuCrete ® can make a difference in the STC rating of a wood structure by adding weight to the floor-ceiling assembly.  The poured underlayment also works by stiffening the subfloor, and sealing the floor and perimeter from noise leaks.  AccuCrete® alone can only offer a modest improvement.  For enhanced sound control, including improvement in IIC and STC ratings, you should consider AccuQuiet® Sound Mats.  These products are designed to work in conjunction with AccuCrete® to deliver a fire-rated assembly with integrated sound control.

6. Do you have UL approval? top

AccuCrete® and AccuQuiet®  are listed in over 50 UL designs for both wood frame and precast concrete plank construction.  The UL mark is universally recognized as the standard for fire-rated floor-ceiling assemblies.

7. Why is AccuCrete® the right choice? top

AccuCrete® Brand Floor Underlayment Systems are the most workable, versatile gypsum concrete floor products in the industry.  Strength by design™ means we can provide an infinite range of compressive strengths to fit any project specs from 1,250 to 4,500 PSI.  This makes specifying our products simpler for you, the end user, and also for the AccuCrete® installer.   The quality and consistency of our products are unmatched in the industry.

8. What is AccuQuiet® Sound Mat? top

AccuQuiet® Sound Mats enhance the IIC and STC ratings of a floor-ceiling assembly, especially over hard surface areas like vinyl, tile, and hardwood.  AccuQuiet® Sound Mats are engineered to provide a vibration break between floors and ceilings, and become a permanently embedded sound reduction system.  For more information, or product samples, call us at 800-624-5963.

9. Is AccuQuiet® the only thing I need achieve my desired sound rating? top

While AccuQuiet® Sound Mats offer improvement in acoustical performance, they are only part of an over-all noise reduction strategy.  Proper framing, use of resilient channels, and insulation are also key factors in sound control.  The entire floor-ceiling assembly, and treatment of mechanical penetrations are important factors.  We strongly suggest that you consult with an acoustical expert during the design and early construction phases of a project to identify potential hazards that will result in unsatisfactory noise control.

10. Does AccuCrete® Cost more then the competition? top

AccuCrete® is considered to be a premium underlayment, but is very cost competitive to other products in the market.  We do not sell our products through distributors in North America, which enables AccuCrete® contractors to be very competitive with an excellent product.  Call us at 1-800-624-5963 to have one of our licensed installers quote your next project.
